DR JOANNA BAUER-SAVAGE

Integrative Medical Doctor and Holistic Lifestyle Coach

MB BCH BAO MScIH DTMPH

After studying medicine at The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland graduating in 2004, I did parts of my GP training in Ireland and Germany training in rheumatology, orthopaedics, endocrinology, paediatrics and general surgery. Subsequent training in holistic lifestyle coaching and other courses gave me tools that support your unique health journey in a practical yet holistic way.

A Masters of Science in International Health (MScIH) and Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Public Health (DTMPH) led me to working for the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Switzerland and for “Health Focus”, an International Humanitarian Aid organisation in Germany. The project management and research skills from these experiences give my work an evidence based yet analytical approach that I can translate into a feasible action plan to manage your health from many different aspects, supporting the best outcome for you.

A core focus of my work, is how lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep, hydration, breathing, movement, emotions, trauma and our beliefs and thought processes, affect our health. I view health holistically and believe we each have the unique ability to help our bodies heal innately. I enjoy challenges and ongoing learning as part of my continuing professional development.

I bring a broad multicultural scope to my work. I was born in Kenya and have lived in Australia, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Kazakhstan and Switzerland. I am of Indian, Portuguese and British ethnicity and speak fluent German. This background has taught me to be an “out-of the-box” thinker and have an open-minded approach. I welcome people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

I currently live in Berlin.
